MLB Washington signs a one-year contract for 13 billion won this season with '0-10' pitcher Soroka

The Washington Nationals of the U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB) have recruited a pitcher who has not won a single game this season.

Washington signed a one-year contract with right-hander Michael Soroka (27) for $9 million (about 13 billion won) on the 20th (Korea Standard Time), the Associated Press reported.

Soroka pitched in 25 games, including nine starts, for the Chicago White Sox in the 2024 season, but only lost 0-10.

The ERA was also not good at 4.74.

However, he was much more stable as a bullpen pitcher with a 2.75 ERA than a 6.39 ERA as a starting pitcher.토토사이트

Soroka, who debuted with the Atlanta Braves in 2018, immediately emerged as a top pitcher with 13 wins, 4 losses and a 2.68 ERA in the 2019 season.

In that year, he ranked second after Pete Alonso in the Rookie of the Year vote and sixth in the Cy Young Award vote.

However, Soroka injured his Achilles tendon while playing defense in the 2020 season game.

Soroka, who blew the entire 2021 and 2022 seasons with surgery and rehabilitation, returned in 2023 and went 2-2 with a 6.40 ERA in seven games.

This year, when he was traded to the White Sox, he lost 10 games without a win, but many clubs paid attention after confirming Soroka's recovery of ball power.

Washington, which unexpectedly invested a huge amount of money to recruit Soroka, is reportedly planning to use him as a starting pitcher for next season.
